The Role

You’ll join the Emerging Talent team, supporting the full cycle of attraction, selection, onboarding, and development for HSBC’s Technology Emerging Talent in Sheffield. This includes graduates, apprentices, interns, and Women in Technology programme participants.

The coordinator role is critical to ensuring seamless programme delivery through strong organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and an unwavering passion for people development. This varied position involves nearly every facet of the emerging talent journey:

  • Supporting school/university outreach events
  • Engaging with current graduates, apprentices, and stakeholders
  • Organising Assessment Centres
  • Crafting marketing communications
  • Facilitating training initiatives

Ideal for someone who thrives in adaptive environments, combining high organisational skills with a desire to work collaboratively while paving the way for a long-term career in emerging talent recruitment.

Key Accountabilities

Event & Logistics Management

  • Manage room bookings, catering, registrations, and follow-up communications
  • Facilitate events at HSBC Sheffield offices, local venues, and virtually
  • Oversee catalogues for shared team diaries and stakeholder commitments
  • Manage Assessment Centre logistics (virtual deliveries) via:
    • Booking timelines and room scheduling
    • Sourcing and briefing assessors
    • Candidate transitions, networking sessions, and on-the-fly administrator support for assessors

  • Conduct candidate feedback calls for the offer process
  • Prepare conditional offer emails and maintain an updated offer tracker
  • Handle acceptances and manage rejections/declination foul-ups

Network Building & Talent Development

  • Establish and nourish a network of Sheffield graduates/apprentices
  • Mobilise ambassadors for recruitment efforts and seek their guidance and input
  • Foster development opportunities tailored to evolving talent

Data & Administrative Services

  • Perform foundational data analysis
  • Tackle a variety of ad hoc tasks to ensure the emerging talent attraction & selection strategy runs effectively

Experience / Qualifications

  • Experience organising events, stakeholder management, and juggling multitasking commitments
  • Exposure to working with varied internal/external customers
  • Familiarity with technology roles (cybersecurity, analytics, engineering) is a plus, though no expertise required
