I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What your typical day will look like
- 9am - Saw Phil the footballer for his third treatment and he’s excited he can now play for 30 mins and didn’t feel his knee at all. I reassured him this was all I wanted him to do and we continued to progress his rehab and treatment.
- 9:30am-11:30: Did some IDD therapy and feels amazing to help patients with herniated discs sleep through the night who I would normally have not been able to help.
- 11:30am: Had a great mentoring session with Gillian to go over some complex shoulder cases that I was scratching my head at how to treat. It’s great to have a supportive mentor to bounce ideas off and learn new approaches to treatment.
- 12:30- Did some shockwave treatment for plantar fasciitis and again to see some great progress. Our patients are loving the results we’re getting with shockwave treatment. I’m now planning their rehab to get them back running.
- 1:30pm - Over lunch I chatted with my Osteopath colleague about a recent IDD case that came in that was considering surgery and wasn’t very hopeful. She’s starting to get great results after session 8 and she’s feeling really hopeful.
- 2pm - Looking forward to getting stuck into my 3 new patients this afternoon. I now have the skills to make a difference in people's lives and using my knowledge makes me love my job.
- 4:45pm - Chatted to a plantar fasciitis enquiry on the phone and reassured her that we absolutely can help her get back into her salsa dancing shoes again. Heading home to read around strengthening exercises for the ankle. Love my job.
