The Role - Associate Consultant
Our Employee Benefits division is expanding rapidly, creating an exciting opportunity for ambitious, analytical, and proactive individuals to contribute to this success. While we welcome applicants with prior Employee Benefits experience, we also have an excellent record of supporting people from other professional services backgrounds (such as accounting, law, and recruitment) who are ready to build a rewarding career in this specialist field.
Individuals with strong communication, numerical, and analytical skills, and confidence working with data, excel in this role, which demands interpretation, problem-solving, and attention to detail in delivering exceptional client support. In this role, you'll become a trusted part of our consulting team, helping clients navigate an evolving Employee Benefits landscape while building your own expertise and professional qualifications.
Development and Progression

Duties
Your initial responsibilities are listed below, however due to the division's growth, these can develop and change to suit your career aspirations, interests, and strengths:
- Working with and supporting our consulting team in dealing with client and product provider queries
- Building strong relationships with our clients to understand their needs and create tailored Employee Benefits solutions
- Undertaking Employee Benefits reviews and writing reports to be presented to our clients
- Attending client meetings in person and virtually
- Managing Employee Benefit policy renewals, coordinating with providers and clients in a timely and organized manner
- Developing relationships with product providers to understand their propositions
- Staying informed about industry developments and changes in legislation which impact our clients
- Managing claims and medical underwriting
- Supporting and administering Employee Benefits policies through our market-leading online benefits platform
- Reviewing and analyzing employee, company, and benefit data

Our Ideal Candidate
You will have experience in either an Employee Benefits OR Professional Services role which includes engaging with clients or other professionals. Some of the skills and behaviors which are important to us are:
- Keen to continually learn and develop your knowledge and skill-set
- Curious to understand, improve, and challenge/question where appropriate
- Have an interest and empathy for people and the ability to understand their point of view and a drive to help at all times, wherever possible
- Experience of team environments and an understanding of the importance of the team and how together we will all support each other in being successful
- Being proactive in your thinking and how you can improve work tasks and support our busy team in being more efficient
- Enthusiasm
- You will be expected to efficiently manage your own workload to ensure client and internal deliverables are met but also proactively support others in the team and have the foresight to understand deadlines which will require organization
- Ability to prioritize tasks from multiple sources (internal and external) and also to manage expectations on deliverables where necessary
- You are proficient in Word and Excel with strong organizational/administrative skills
- You are a strong communicator with a proficient level of written and spoken English and grammar
- Ability to develop, nurture, and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally
