Dr. Martens is more than a brand - it’s a global icon with over 60 years of attitude, heritage, and cultural impact. We’re a thriving, values-driven business powered by diverse thinkers, bold doers, and people who bring their whole selves to work. If you’re ready to make your mark, you’re in the right place.
At DM, our values guide everything we do: Be Yourself, Act Courageously, Show You Care. They’re not just words - they’re how we turn passion into progress.
WHERE YOU SIT
As our Employee Experience Comms Lead, you’ll be part of the People team working closely with brilliant people across the business and reporting into Head of Employee Experience. You’ll be right at the heart of fast-moving projects that shape how we show up for our consumers - today and tomorrow.
WHERE YOU CONTRIBUTE
Sitting within the Employee Experience team, this role owns the communications that bring the employee experience to life – employee listening and the actions that follow, culture, values and behaviours (the DM Way), reward and policy, and people-change – partnering with, but distinct from, the Global Internal Communications team, which owns the enterprise narrative, leadership voice and core channels.
Working closely with the global Internal comms teams, leadership, Employee Experience, People teams and business stakeholders, the role translates strategic priorities into effective communication plans and content. The role plays a critical part in driving engagement, supporting change and strengthening organisational alignment through strong communication practices.
Core Accountabilities
As our Employee Experience Comms Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering internal communications strategies that support the People Strategy and Employee Experience agenda, ensuring consistent messaging, alignment with enterprise communications and effective partnership with senior stakeholders and Global Internal Communications.
- Creating and delivering engaging communications across internal channels, including leadership updates, town halls, change communications, employee engagement campaigns and People initiatives, ensuring content is clear, accessible and aligned to organisational tone of voice.
- Leading communications that strengthen employee engagement and change adoption, supporting organisational change, employee listening, reward and benefits communications, and ensuring colleagues understand key initiatives while feeling informed, connected and supported.
- Optimising communication channels and measuring effectiveness, using engagement data and feedback to continuously improve communication reach, quality and impact while supporting the ongoing evolution of Employee Experience communications.
- Building strong cross-functional partnerships, collaborating with People, Brand, Marketing, Global Internal Communications and business leaders to deliver joined-up communications that reinforce organisational priorities, culture and employee experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
