We are seeking a proactive Employee Relations Advisor to help embed our people-led, innovative, and customer-focused culture. This role will support strategic goals, operational excellence, and identifying growth opportunities while maintaining compliance with employment law.

Role Overview
Deliver a professional, proactive, and flexible Employee Relations service by providing:
- Generalist advice and support to all colleagues across Retail, Gyms, Supply Chain, and Head Office
- Best-practice guidance while ensuring compliance with Company policies and employment legislation

Employee Relations Support
- Provide practical, accountable first-line Employee Relations advice to Line Managers and colleagues, covering:
- Disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Absence management
- Family-friendly policies
- Deliver timely, accurate advice to resolve issues while minimising appeals
- Act as a knowledge-sharing team member within the People function
Line Management & Case Management
- Support and coach Line Managers in fair and consistent Employee Relations handling
- Accurately document meetings and articulate resolutions
- Manage appropriately high-volume, complex caseloads across the Group
Legal & Policy Compliance
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, best practice, and case law
- Ensure statutory policies and procedures are fairly and proportionately applied
- Audit traceability of People records in compliance with GDPR
Operational Excellence
- Assist with monthly/annual cycles (e.g., ROPs, payroll, compliance deadlines)
- Assist with project work as needed (e.g., policy updates, change programmes)
Communication & Collaborative Work
- Empathetically engage with colleagues and stakeholders through informal and formal communications
- Occasionally work outside standard office hours to support 24/7 operations

Skills & Knowledge Required
Qualifications & Experience
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (experienced candidates with Level 3 may be considered if they demonstrate substantial HR generalist experience in addition to aspirations toward upskilling)
- Essential: HR/People Advisor experience, preferably in retail or a fast-paced, People-focused environment
- Experience handling complex caseloads demonstrating strong discretion and stakeholder management
Technical Skills
- In-depth knowledge of employment legislation, policies, and ER procedures
- Proficient in Office365 and HR systems ( 日力, Dayforce experience is advantageous)
- Typing accuracy with a strong attention to detail
Soft Skills
- Clear communication across all levels of the business
- Aptitude to guide, influence, and challenge current practices objectively
- Resilience and adaptability for a fluid, fast-paced environment
- Ability to advocate and empower staff
