We are looking to speak with immediately available HR/ER Advisors for a 6-month FTC with a utilities business in Leeds. Reporting into the Employee Relations Manager, you'll provide expert advice and guidance across a wide range of employee relations matters, helping managers confidently navigate complex people issues while ensuring employment legislation and best practice are consistently applied.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative organisation where you'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality employee relations service and contributing to continuous improvement across the HR function.
Key Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Employee Relations Manager, supporting the delivery of the organisation's employee relations strategy.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on all employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance, capability, and flexible working.
- Manage a varied employee relations caseload from initial enquiry through to resolution, ensuring cases are handled fairly, consistently, and in line with employment legislation.
- Coach and support managers to build confidence in managing employee issues and applying HR policies.
- Attend formal meetings where required, advising on process and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Review and update HR policies and procedures to reflect legislative changes and best practice.
- Analyse employee relations trends and produce reports and management information to support informed decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with the wider HR team to deliver an excellent people service and drive continuous improvement.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in an Employee Relations Advisor or HR Advisor role with significant employee relations case management.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to prioritise a varied workload and manage multiple cases effectively.
- A proactive, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
This is a 6-month FTC, hybrid role based in Leeds, offering c£38,000 per annum.
