Location - Birmingham

Shift: 37.5 Hours Monday - Friday

We're looking for an Employee Relations Advisor to join our growing People Team, providing expert employee relations advice and support to managers across the business while helping create a great place to work for all colleagues.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of complex employee relations cases, ensuring fair, compliant and commercially focused outcomes.
  • Advise, coach and support managers on employee relations matters in line with employment legislation, company policies and best practice.
  • Build effective working relationships with senior stakeholders, the wider HR team and business leaders across Mitie.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Occupational Health partners on Early Conciliation cases, Employment Tribunal claims and employee wellbeing matters.
  • Review employee relations policies and processes, making recommendations and supporting the implementation of continuous improvements.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong knowledge of employee relations policies, procedures and UK employment law.
  • Experience managing a varied employee relations caseload with confidence and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and coach managers effectively.
  • A people-focused approach, demonstrating respect, discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • Experience working within a HR Shared Services environment is desirable.
  • A curious and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to adapt your approach to different situations.
  • Ideally CIPD qualified at Level 3 or Level 5, with support available for further professional development.
