PIB Group | UK-wide, with travel expected | Permanent | £70,000-£75,000

PIB Group is one of the UK's leading insurance businesses, and as we scale, so does the complexity of the people challenges we face. We're looking for an experienced Employee Relations & Policy Lead who has genuinely been in the room for the hard cases, the ones with legal exposure, reputational risk, and no easy answer and who can bring that judgement to a fast-moving, entrepreneurial organisation.

This isn't a policy-writing role that occasionally touches ER. It's the other way round: we need someone who has led complex, high-risk ER cases from first escalation through to tribunal, and who can build the policy framework and capability around that expertise. If you've sat across the table at a tribunal, managed a settlement under pressure, or been the calm, credible voice on a case that could have gone very wrong, this role is built for you.

You'll report to the People Director, lead a team of three, and act as the escalation point across the business for the ER matters that genuinely keep People Directors up at night.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You'll Do

  • Own high-risk casework — disciplinaries, grievances, conduct issues and organisational change cases that are too sensitive to sit anywhere else.
  • Lead tribunals and settlements — manage tribunal claims end to end, oversee ACAS conciliation, and draft settlement agreements.
  • Shape ER strategy — set the direction for ER and policy across the Group, and spot risks early.
  • Own our HR policies — draft, review and modernise policies and turn case themes into training for HR Business Partners and managers.
  • Partner across the business — work closely with Legal, Compliance and senior leaders.

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on experience leading complex, high-risk ER cases serious conduct issues, contentious grievances, tribunal claims, not just policy oversight.
  • Direct experience with tribunal claims, ACAS conciliation and settlement agreements.
  • Strong, current knowledge of UK employment law, with policies that hold up in practice.
  • Confidence using ER data to spot trends and inform decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and experience delivering ER/policy training.
