Employee Relations Specialist
Employee Relations Specialist (Fixed-Term Contract) – Bristol
Are you an experienced Employee Relations professional looking for your next opportunity? We're partnering with a values-led organisation in Bristol to recruit an excellent Employee Relations Specialist on a fixed-term basis (4-5 months).
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative HR team, playing a key role in managing a varied and complex employee relations (ER) caseload while making a genuine difference to people’s lives.
The Role
Joining an established People team, you will provide expert employee relations support to managers across the organisation, handling a broad range of cases from start to finish.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a busy caseload, covering:
- Sickness absence management
- Disciplinary cases
- Grievances
- Capability and performance issues
- Complex and sensitive employee relations matters
- Advising and coaching managers through formal processes
- Ensuring cases are managed fairly, consistently, and in line with:
- Uk employment legislation
- Organisational policy

You'll work closely with operational leaders, becoming a trusted advisor to support managers with varying levels of HR experience.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced ER professional who can:
- Quickly build credibility
- Confidently manage multiple cases simultaneously
Ideally, you’ll have:
✔ Proven experience managing a broad ER caseload independently
✔ Strong knowledge of:
- Uk employment law
- HR best practice
✔ Experience dealing with complex and sensitive cases
✔ The ability to:
- Influence, coach, and challenge managers appropriately ✔ Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
