Here’s an impactful opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives. We’re seeking an Employment Adviser to join our team.

You will provide tailored advice and support, empowering participants to overcome barriers to employment and achieve realistic job goals. Act as a coach, mentor, and trusted contact, helping customers secure sustainable employment.


About the Role

You will:

  • Manage a caseload of participants, supporting their journey to employment and relationships post-placement.
  • Motivate, challenge, and guide individuals to reach their full potential.
  • Tailor personalised action plans, leveraging SMART targets for clear progress.
  • Fix digital skills gaps to ensure customers can navigate online job platforms.
  • Collaborate with employers to match candidates effectively and sustainably.
  • Develop engagement strategies to keep participants connected and progressing.
  • Champion compliance, safeguarding, and equality within our culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed individual targets (KPIs).
  • Proactively manage a caseload of customers to break employment barriers.
  • Deliver exceptional service to help participants complete the programme.
  • Use tools to assess personal circumstances and aspirations—then design bespoke solutions.
    • Guidance on basic self-employment.
    • Signposting to specialist self-employment support.
  • Co-create personalised SMART-targeted Action Plans for consistent progress.
  • Support job searches, interviews, and digital skills.
  • Verify job placements, ensuring evidence meets programme standards.
  • Monitor local labour markets to offer suitable opportunities.
  • Market clients to employers using email, LinkedIn, and tailored outreach.
  • Work with key stakeholders (e.g., small business federations) to create job pipelines.
  • Maintain records and fully adhere to quality/compliance standards.
  • Stay updated on specialist local signposting services (e.g., disability, benefits, housing).
  • Advocate improvement initiatives that enhance customer service.
  • Act as an employee owner, aligning work with organisational/investor values.
  • Champion best practice and flexibility when needed (e.g., necessary travel).
  • Promote Prevent and safeguarding protocols.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong awareness of local labour markets.
  • Basic knowledge of self-employment.
  • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proven experience in a target-driven, high-quality support environment.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Understanding of employability or recruitment industry.
  • Experience delivering information/advice & guidance.
  • Full driving licence.

  • Hours: 37 hrs/week
    • Mon–Thu: 8:30am–5:00pm
    • Fri: 8:30am–4:30pm
