Employment and Skills Coach
Employment and Skills Coach (Lowestoft)
Location: Lowestoft, Suffolk NR33 9NB Salary: £24,762 - £28,117 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours a week Contract: Fixed term until 31 March 2028, required as soon as possible Reference: 0812
Inspire is looking to recruit an Employment and Skills Coach (Lowestoft) to join our team, providing support for young people across Suffolk to build confidence, develop skills, and progress into education, employment, or training.
What Will the Job Entail?
Diverse Youth Support
- Work with young people of diverse needs to guide them into education, employment, or training.
- Tailor individual support to address specific challenges and aspirations.
Caseload Management
- Manage a caseload of young participants, ensuring 100% engagement and progression.
- Track progress via VIEWS CRM system.

Delivering Guidance
- Provide Impartial Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG).
- Support with CV writing, job search strategy, and interview preparation.
Workshop Delivery and Engagement
- Conduct 1-2-1 and group workshops focused on employability skills, job search techniques, and consistent engagement with caseloads.
Vacancy Matching
- Screen and match candidates with local job and training opportunities.
- Recruit for internal Inspire programmes.
Rural Engagement
- Develop innovative strategies to connect with rural youths facing transport challenges.
- Ensure accessibility to services beyond main hubs.

Outcome-Driven Performance
- Achieve KPIs including:
- Placement into employment for 55% of supported young people.
- Progression to further training or education for 25%.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Main point of contact for:
- Local youth.
- Referral partners.
- Parents/Guardians.
- Build strong community relationships.
Labour Market Monitoring and Expertise
- Engage with external partners and local employers to maintain up-to-date Labour Market Information (LMI).
Requirements
Key Skills & Qualities:
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Capacity to inspire and motivate individuals to achieve personal and professional goals.
- Skills to deliver engaging employability and skills support.
- Ability to work independently while managing a varied caseload.
Ideal Experience:
- Experience working with young people in youth work, education, or employability settings.
- Knowledge of delivering Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG).
Essential Requirements:
- A full driving licence.
- Access to a vehicle (due to the nature of the role).
- An Enhanced DBS.
