Employment Lawyer
Employment Lawyer – Fully Remote
North Northamptonshire Council
North Northamptonshire Council is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join their Legal Services team on a full-time, fully remote basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support a busy local authority with a varied caseload of employment law matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality legal advice on a wide range of employment law issues, including:
- Disciplinary proceedings
- Grievances
- Redundancy
- TUPE
- Tribunal matters
- Manage and conduct employment tribunal cases, including preparation of documentation and representation where required
- Advise HR and senior management on complex employment matters and risk mitigation strategies
- Draft and review policies, procedures, and legal documentation in line with current legislation
- Support organisational change projects and restructuring initiatives

Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX
- Significant post-qualification experience in employment law
- Proven experience working within local government or the public sector (highly desirable)
- Strong knowledge of:
- UK employment legislation
- Tribunal processes
- Ability to:
- Manage a varied caseload independently
- Meet strict deadlines
- Excellent:
- Communication skills
- Stakeholder management abilities

Role Details
- Contract Length: 3 months initially
- Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)
- Location: Fully remote
