Responsibilities
About the Team:
Our Global Legal team provides key support for all TikTok’s innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright and capable legal professionals to join the team.
The Global Employment Law team provides strategic and practical legal advice to Human Resources and business stakeholders globally, and handles employment litigation matters involving TikTok in all the regions in which TikTok operates. We are looking for an experienced lawyer to manage litigation and disputes throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa, with a primary focus on the United Kingdom and Ireland. This role will report to our Global Head of Employment Litigation and partner closely with our Senior EMEA Employment Litigation Counsel, and can be based in either our London or Dublin office.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of employment disputes across Europe, Middle East and Africa, including risk assessment and development of litigation defense strategies, effective management of external legal counsel, working cross-functionally to manage e-discovery issues, fact-finding and analysis, witness preparation, and hearing preparation and presentation.
- Work with investigative teams to ensure thorough and complete investigations of employment-related matters, and provide employment law advice and guidance.
- Serve as a strong contributor on legal compliance matters relating to employment law issues.
- Help to build and manage internal processes and policies to efficiently and effectively manage our growing litigation caseload.
- Manage case reporting, to provide better real-time data insights.
- Work cross-functionally to create, lead, or support training on global employment law issues, as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Qualified lawyer in the UK and/or Ireland with experience practicing before the UK employment tribunals or the Workplace Relations Commission in Ireland (or ideally both).
- Extensive employment law experience in private practice with a highly regarded firm and a corporate legal department, with a focus on advising on investigations and managing employment disputes and handling matters through all stages of litigation.
- Demonstrated judgment, personal integrity, and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to work as a team player who can effectively collaborate with colleagues from the Global Legal team and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, including exceptional legal writing skills and the ability to craft persuasive and concise briefs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ideally dual-qualified in civil and common law systems, or possessing litigation experience across multiple European territories or deep understanding of both civil and common law legal systems.
- Experience handling employment litigation matters in multiple jurisdictions through all stages of litigation, including through final hearing; retaining and managing outside counsel to ensure that all aspects of the company's legal representation are of the highest quality; and representing multi-national companies involved in complex disputes with outstanding outcomes.
