Solicitor – Employment Rights

About the Role

We’re seeking qualified solicitors with specialist employment law experience to join our Employment Rights team, where you’ll deliver exceptional client service and make a meaningful difference.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of employment tribunal claimant matters, involving unfair dismissal, discrimination (e.g., sex/gender, ethnicity, disability), whistleblowing, and workplace disputes
  • Provide strategic advice, negotiate settlements, and secure positive outcomes for clients navigating challenging workplace issues
  • Build trusting, collaborative relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and reassurance throughout their legal journey

This is an opportunity for a solicitor who balances technical legal expertise with a strong commitment to client care, working within a supportive team that values empathy, professionalism, and high-quality representation.

Requirements

Professional Experience & Qualifications

  • Fully qualified solicitor with at least 2 years handling employment tribunal litigation
  • Proven ability to manage an independent caseload, from intake to resolution
  • Strong grasp of Employment Tribunal procedure and case management rules
  • Experience advising on complex employment law issues, including dismissals, discrimination claims, and contract interpretations

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication – able to explain legal advice clearly to non-specialist clients
  • Analytical and strategic thinking – assessing claims objectively to identify strengths, weaknesses, and settlement potential
  • Stakeholder management – collaborating with clients, opposing Counsel, HR teams, and witnesses
  • Conflict resolution – de-escalating tensions and advocating fairly for clients
  • Technical proficiency – proficient with case-tracking systems, legal research tools, and tribunal submission platforms
