Employment Law Solicitor (Respondent)

A highly regarded National law firm are seeking ambitious Solicitors to join its nationally recognised Employment team. This is an excellent opportunity for an employment lawyer looking to work on a broad mix of contentious, advisory, and transactional matters across a range of regulated and commercial sectors

The role offers exposure to complex and high-profile employment law issues, with the opportunity to work closely with partners and multidisciplinary teams across the firm

The Role

As part of a national Employment practice, you will advise clients across a diverse range of sectors, including Healthcare providers, Housing organisations, Higher education institutions, Public sector organisations, including central and local government. You will work on a varied caseload spanning:

  • Day-to-day employment advisory work
  • Employment tribunal litigation and advocacy
  • Restructures and redundancy programmes
  • Employee relations matters and settlement negotiations
  • TUPE and outsourcing projects
  • Employment aspects of corporate and commercial transactions
  • Policy drafting and HR documentation
  • Client training and knowledge-sharing

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a broad caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
  • Support partners and senior colleagues on complex and high-value mandates
  • Advise on TUPE, including consultation obligations, warranties, and indemnities
  • Conduct employment due diligence as part of corporate and commercial transactions
  • Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and procedures
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers'
  • Deliver client training and contribute to business development initiatives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • Ideally 3+ years’ PQE in employment law
  • Strong technical expertise across both contentious and advisory employment matters
  • Experience advising on restructures, redundancies, and employee relations issue's
  • TUPE and transactional experience, including due diligence and drafting
  • Excellent litigation and/or advocacy skills
  • Confidence managing complex and high-profile matters
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills
  • Experience supervising junior colleagues
  • A proactive and commercially focused approach
