Experienced Employment Solicitor – Leeds
Role Overview
LC Legal, in partnership with a national law firm (consistently ranked in Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners—with multiple top-tier practice rankings)—is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join their market-leading Employment Rights, Pensions and Immigration team.

The Opportunity
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload spanning both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters
- Advise clients on:
- Improving employment practices
- Managing workforce issues (e.g., restructures, redundancies)
- Defending employment claims while mitigating risk
- Build and nurture relationships with:
- External clients
- Internal multidisciplinary teams (including regulatory and commercial colleagues)
- Handle a broad mix of work, including:
- Advisory
- Transactional
- Contentious litigation (high-profile and complex cases)
- Work on novel, evolving employment law challenges across dynamic markets
- Provide supervision and mentorship to junior team members
- Contribute to training, client onboarding, and relationship management

About You
Essential Criteria
- 4+ years’ Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) with broad employment law expertise
- Ability to support sophisticated clients across relevant sectors (see list above)
- Experience in restructures and redundancies, including:
- Designing termination processes
- Drafting redundancy consultation procedures
- Settling disputes
- Strong background in Employee Relations, including:
- Settlement negotiations
- Managing grievances, disciplinary hearings, and dismissal defence
- Litigation expertise:
- Managing complex, high-profile cases (both contentious and advisory)
- Leading cases as part of a team
- TUPE expertise*, including:
- Drafting and negotiating transfer-related warranties/indemnities
- Advising on workforce policies in transactions (e.g., due diligence, employee consultation)
- Transactional due diligence and advisory support:
- Assisting corporate/commercial teams in commercial deals
- Real-time consultation (when necessary)
- Ability to draft and review employment policies, including health & safety, off-payroll matters, contractual clauses, and dispute avoidance frameworks
