You will get lots of client contact. This is because you’ll be part of a small team: 1 Partner, 2 Trainees and 1 Paralegal. It means you’ll have both supervision from a Partner as well as junior Trainee level support, so you can concentrate on the more complex work. You’ll therefore be comfortable talking to both claimant and respondent clients and helping them navigate their employment law issues.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

A great place to learn. The firm has several Legal 500 “Hall of Fame” Lawyers, and the Head of their employment team was trained at a Magic Circle law firm.
Interesting and complex work. They frequently advise on matters litigated in the High Court and with a lot of their clients being in the entertainment sector; this means that often employment terms will be negotiated on a bespoke basis.
