Employment Senior Associate | 5 Years PQE Plus
Birmingham | Hybrid | £80K - £130K DOE
GMP Recruitment Agency Limited are proud to be partnered with a Top 50 leading national law firm. We are supporting their recruitment for an experienced Senior Associate Solicitor to join their Birmingham branch to play a pivotal role in a dynamic and ambitious practice, delivering high-quality, commercially focused legal advice to a broad and sophisticated client base.
This is an opportunity to work on a varied and engaging caseload spanning both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, with a particular emphasis on Corporate Advisory work. You will support clients on the employment aspects of business-critical transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, restructures, reorganisations and wider strategic change projects, alongside advising on day-to-day employment matters.

Main Duties:
- Manage complex matters such as Employment Tribunal claims, discrimination and whistleblowing issues, employee relations matters, contractual advice, policies, restructures, and redundancies.
- Take ownership of your work, build strong client relationships and contribute to the continued success and growth of the team.
- Be encouraged to play an active role in business development, client engagement, and the development of junior colleagues, helping to shape the future direction of the practice.
Skills and Experience:
- At least 5 years’ PQE as an experienced employment lawyer with a strong background across both contentious and non-contentious employment law.
- Significant experience advising on employment matters with a strong focus on Corporate Advisory and transactional support.
- Experience handling employment elements of mergers and acquisitions, restructures, reorganisations, and other business transformation projects.
- Proven ability to manage Employment Tribunal claims and complex employee relations matters.
- Strong knowledge of areas including disciplinary and grievance processes, discrimination, whistleblowing, contracts, and employment policies.
- The confidence to manage client relationships, take ownership of matters, and provide commercially focused advice.
- A proactive approach to supporting colleagues, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to business development initiatives.
