Employment Law – Solicitor or CILEx | NQ to 3 PQE | Mid-Sussex (Must Drive)

This specialist firm in Mid-Sussex is seeking their next addition—a newly qualified Employment Solicitor or CILEx Legal Executive with aspirations for the future.

Join a small but expert team working with top-tier clients across diverse sectors, from aviation and construction to retail, financial services, and recruitment.

With mentorship, strong internal resources, and no principle as "founder", you’ll develop a respected career in employment law while being heard.


The Role

Location: Mid-Sussex – driving essential Firm Type: Well-regarded, client-focused practice serving primarily corporate employees Choice: Ambition, career growth and hands-on support or autonomy as confidence grows

A junior Employment Solicitor/Executive supporting senior lawyers in a range of employer-focused employment matters including:

  • Preparing bundles for trial
  • Liaising with Tribunals and clients
  • Drafting settlement agreements
  • Creating and amending contracts of employment
  • Reviewing/updating client handbooks and policies

Responsibilities

  • Supporting senior solicitors in advising a breadth of employer clients.
  • Preparing legal documents: draft agreements, contracts, policy amendments and tribunal bundles.
  • Client Liaison & case management alongside experienced partners.
  • Opportunity to develop knowledge across multiple sectors with exposure to employment disputes, transitional work and general advice across legal obligations.

Requirements

  • 1 training seat or considerable qualifying experience in Employment Law – desirable.
  • Newly qualified knowledge as an Employment Solicitor or CILEx Legal Executive, or on track to qualify.
  • Ideal for those with a keen interest in Employment Law and relevant knowledge/experience.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A degree in law or equivalent.
  • Access to a qualifying law degree (e.g., GDL) or equivalent learning pathways (e.g., CILEx).
  • Interior experience preferably in a Fixed Fee or employer-facing firm.
