Working across Kendal & Barrow
£32,061 (25 Days Holiday Bank Holidays, Local Government Pension Scheme)
Full-time, Permanent
The Role:
We are recruiting for an IPS Employment Specialist to support individuals facing barriers into sustainable employment across Kendal and Barrow.
This is a rewarding, person-centred role where you will manage a varied caseload, providing tailored one-to-one support to help individuals build confidence, develop skills, and secure meaningful work. You'll take a proactive approach, working closely with local employers to identify opportunities and support customers throughout their journey into employment and beyond.
This role would suit someone with a background in recruitment or employability who has a genuine passion for making a positive difference.
The role involves:
- Managing a caseload of customers, conducting detailed assessments to identify strengths and barriers to employment
- Creating personalised action plans aligned to individual goals and career aspirations
- Supporting customers with job search activities, CV writing, interview preparation and skills development
- Building confidence and independence through regular engagement, coaching and goal setting
- Engaging with employers to identify suitable opportunities and promote candidates
- Providing in-work support to ensure job retention and address any challenges within employment

You'll need:
- Experience as an employment advisor or as a commercial recruitment consultant
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to motivate and influence
- Proven ability to manage a caseload or pipeline and achieve outcomes or KPIs
- Confidence engaging with employers and adopting a business development approach
- Experience of providing advice, guidance or coaching to support individuals
- A proactive, organised and solution-focused approach
- A genuine passion for supporting people into sustainable employment

Due to the nature of this role, you will hold a driving licence and have access to your own vehicle, you will also be required to complete an online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if offered the position.
