Employment Specialist : Folkestone/Hythe /Dover

Employment Specialist (Connect to Work) – Folkestone / Hythe & Dover

Location: Folkestone

Salary: Up to £28,000 depending on experience

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full Time (35 hours/week) (part-time or reduced hours may be considered)


About the Role

Do you enjoy helping people build confidence, overcome challenges, and move towards a better future? The Forward Trust is looking for compassionate, motivated Employment Specialists to join our Connect to Work team across Folkestone / Hythe and Dover.

In this impactful role, you’ll support individuals facing barriers to employment—such as mental health challenges, long-term health conditions, disabilities, and life circumstances—helping them find meaningful work, sustain their jobs, and progress towards greater independence.

EBFIS / Connect to Work training will be provided, along with ongoing support and development opportunities.

Essential Requirements

Experience (Desirable but not essential – training provided):

  • Employability/recruitment
  • Health, wellbeing, or support services
  • Adult learning or skills programmes
  • Coaching, mentoring, or support work

Person-Centred Skills:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Confidence working with diverse populations
  • A positive, supportive, and person-focused approach
  • A belief that everyone deserves access to employment opportunities
