Employment Specialist - Graduate Development Role

Job Introduction

Connect to Work | Community Based | Early Career Opportunity

Start a career helping people move into real, sustainable work.

At Get Set UK, we support people to build the skills, confidence and stability needed to move into employment. We are delivering the Connect to Work programme across Hertfordshire, helping people who face barriers to employment due to disability, health conditions or complex life circumstances.

This role is designed for graduates or early career professionals who want to build a career in employability, people support or community services.

You will begin with structured training and mentoring. Within six months, you will be operating confidently as an Employment Specialist, with a clear pathway towards senior roles such as Team Leader or Service Manager.

A Career Development Role

This position combines practical work with structured development.

You Will Receive:

  • Full training in the IPS (Individual Placement and Support) employment model
  • Coaching from experienced managers
  • Structured development during your first six months
  • Clear progression opportunities within employment services

This role is ideal for graduates from areas such as:

  • Human Resources
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Health or Social Care
  • Sports Science
  • Business or Management
  • Criminology or Community Studies

Transferable skills and motivation matter more than previous sector experience.

A Mobile Community Role

This role is community based and mobile.

You will travel across the region each day to meet participants, employers and partner organisations.

Meetings take place in community venues, health settings and workplaces.

This is not a work-from-home role. You must be comfortable travelling daily and have reliable access to transport.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
