Employment Tax Manager

Advisory‑Focused Role | Leading Clients | Flexible Working

Looking to move beyond compliance into more commercially focused employment tax work?

This is an opportunity to join a well‑established tax team advising on complex, real‑world employment tax issues for a varied and high‑quality client base.

An established professional services firm is seeking an Employment Tax Manager to support the continued growth of its employment tax offering, working closely with senior stakeholders and clients across advisory, compliance, and transactional matters.

The Role

You will manage a broad portfolio of employment tax work, including:

  • Employment tax advisory and compliance
  • PAYE, NIC, and employer compliance matters
  • Share incentives and equity‑related remuneration issues
  • Terminations, benefits, and expenses
  • Employment tax input on transactions, reorganisations, and reward planning
  • Supporting HMRC enquiries, audits, and disclosures
  • Working closely with colleagues across corporate tax, personal tax, payroll, and reward teams

Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships and act as a trusted employment tax adviser
  • Deliver practical, commercially focused advice to employers
  • Review work prepared by junior team members and support their development
  • Assist Partners and Directors with business development and proposals
  • Contribute to thought leadership and internal knowledge sharing
  • Support junior team growth through coaching and mentoring

About You

  • Strong experience in UK employment tax
  • Qualified ACA, CTA, ATT, or equivalent (or qualified by experience)
  • Solid understanding of PAYE/NIC, benefits, terminations, and employment‑related compliance
  • Comfortable advising clients directly and managing multiple workstreams
  • Commercial, collaborative, and solutions‑focused
  • Experience working with owner‑managed businesses, large corporates, or international groups is beneficial
