The Role
At Roche, we pursue a bold Pharma Strategy to deliver 20 transformative medicines addressing diseases with the highest societal impact. Portfolio Strategy and Delivery’s (PSD) mission is to translate Roche’s strategies into development priorities (PD) and deliver the portfolio with excellence.
As an End-to-End Business Team Coach, you will:
- Act as a strategic partner to high-priority teams (LCTs, GDTs, GFTs, etc.) across the R&D value chain.
- Develop and execute a systemic coaching strategy enabling the delivery of PD’s core business and critical projects.
- Contribute to the success of PD Growth & Performance (G&P) by improving team effectiveness, problem-solving, and accelerating decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Systemic Team Coaching
- Deliver end-to-end coaching interventions for high-priority assets (TA-focused), LCTs, GDTs, GFTs, STs, and prioritized teams at critical junctures.
- Move beyond individual dynamics to align stakeholders and ensure cross-functional accountability.
Strategic Business Impact
- Focus on directionally improving key business value drivers by coaching teams toward excellence in problem-solving and execution.
- Transcend traditional dynamics to ensure team success is measured by delivery alignment with PD’s core priorities.

Team Health & Alignment
- Collaborate with Resourcing Leads (RLs) and Global Program Managers (GPMs) to accelerate team effectiveness through clarity and alignment.
- Ensure team system health acts as a high-performance engine for the drug development lifecycle.
- Maintain Therapeutic Area (TA) awareness and align coaching triggers with the new LSPC prioritization framework.
Data & Performance Culture
- Adopt a systems-thinking approach, using data/metrics to identify cross-organization insights.
- Demonstrate the measurable impact of coaching interventions.
Innovation & AI Integration
- Stay abreast of industry trends and explore the use of AI, automation, and digital technologies to enhance team performance.
Standards of Practice
- Contribute to and adopt Standards of Practice and Value Measurement & Reporting to ensure consistent quality and business impact globally.
Who You Are
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s/MBA preferred).
- Formal accreditation in Team Coaching (e.g., ICF, EMCC, or equivalent) is essential.
Experience
- 10+ years in Pharma/Biotech or high-complexity industries.
- Proven systemic team coaching experience with global, matrixed teams through large-scale change and drug development lifecycles.
- Beyond 1:1 coaching, your experience must include end-to-end, cross-functional team engagement.
Key Competencies
- Systemic Mindset: Deep understanding of frameworks like Leadership Circle, focusing on people dynamics, systemic dynamics, and results.
- Business Acumen: Strong awareness of the R&D value chain; understand the "business of science" and value drivers for Clinical Operations, Regulatory, and Commercial teams.
- Data & Technology: Use data to diagnose team health and measure intervention success. Visionary on AI integration for coaching.
- Agile Facilitation: Pragmatic application of Agile principles to solve business bottlenecks.
- Coaching Presence: Ability to create safe spaces while navigating high-stakes competing priorities; excellent facilitation and influence skills.
