End User Support Specialist

6 Month Contract
£350 Per Day

Job Summary

The End User Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to employees by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues. This role ensures users receive timely, effective support while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-line technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access using Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), and Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and application issues.
  • Install, configure, and support standard business applications.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior technical teams or third-party vendors when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, service requests, and resolutions within the IT Service Management (ITSM) system.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including provisioning equipment and user accounts.
  • Configure and deploy desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and accessories.
  • Perform routine system updates, software installations, and security patching.
  • Assist with endpoint security, antivirus management, and compliance requirements.
  • Support printers, meeting room technology, and audio-visual equipment.
  • Create and maintain user documentation, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while meeting agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Participate in after-hours support or on-call rotation when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in an IT Service Desk or End User Support role.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10/11 and macOS environments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID.
  • Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice, or ManageEngine.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi.
  • Experience supporting remote users using remote support tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification.
  • CompTIA A+ and/or Network+.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, SCCM/MECM, or other endpoint management platforms.
  • Experience with endpoint security solutions and mobile device management (MDM).

Working Conditions

  • Office, hybrid, or remote work environment.
  • Occasional travel between company locations may be required.
  • Ability to lift and install desktop equipment (up to approximately 20 kg / 44 lbs) where required.
  • Participation in after-hours maintenance and support rotations as needed.
