Specialist Endocrine Team Vacancy – Endocrine Clinical Nurse Specialist (Band 7)

Are you an experienced and motivated nurse with a passion for endocrinology? Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Endocrine Clinical Nurse Specialist (Band 7) to join our Diabetes and Endocrine multidisciplinary team.
Based primarily at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, this exciting opportunity allows you to play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred endocrine care across the Trust, including cross-site support at Winchester and Andover.
About the Role
As an Endocrine Nurse Specialist, you will work as an autonomous practitioner and recognised clinical expert, managing a defined caseload of patients with a wide range of endocrine conditions, including complex cases.
Key Responsibilities

Patient-Care Duties**
- Deliver specialist endocrine care across outpatient, inpatient, and virtual settings
- Run nurse-led clinics and contribute to dynamic endocrine testing
- Provide expert advice and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care programmes
- Request and interpret diagnostic investigations within scope of practice
- Act as a key link between primary, community, and secondary care services

**Leadership &
Development Roles**
- Autonomously manage and prioritise a specialist endocrine caseload
- Deliver nurse-led clinics, patient education, and telephone/virtual consultations
- Support diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of endocrine disorders
- Act as a clinical role model, supporting and mentoring junior staff and students
- Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide specialist education and training across the Trust and beyond
- Support development of care pathways to improve patient outcomes
