Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Nurse (Full-Time) – Ysbyty Gwynedd
Job Overview

Whether you're a Band 5, Student Nurse, or a qualified nurse returning to practice, we’re recruiting an additional full-time nurse for our Endoscopy Unit at Ysbyty Gwynedd.
The Endoscopy unit on the Ysbyty Gwynedd site has transitioned to a 7-day service, requiring an expansion of our nursing team to support this.
Main Responsibilities & Duties
At Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board, we operate 8 procedure rooms across three sites, delivering diverse and high-quality procedures, including:
- Diagnostics & therapeutics
- Gastroscopy
- Flexible sigmoidoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- PEG insertion
- Bronchoscopy
- EBUS
- ERCP
- Double Balloon Enteroscopy (DBE)
As part of our team, you’ll also contribute to the Bowel Screening Wales Programme, offering a broad range of specialisms to develop your expertise.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered General Nurse
- Registered Operating Department Practitioner
Desirable
- A Diploma or Degree level qualification, or a willingness to work towards professional advancement
Experience
Essential
- Substantial experience in gastroenterology
- Evidence of contributing to practice development
Desirable
- Experience in Endoscopy nursing
- Completion of Gastroenterology or Endoscopy courses
Skills
Essential
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to present factual information accurately
- Capacity to maintain precise patient records
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
- Good interpersonal skills
- Active participation in practice development
Desirable
- Knowledge of professional and NHS-related issues
- Understanding of endoscopy practices
- Basic IT proficiency
- Welsh language skills
