Job Outline
Role Purpose
We are recruiting an Energetics Engineer for production engineering, focusing on high-precision components like detonators, strip line cables, and safety arming units. The ideal candidate will:

Key Responsibilities
Process & Quality Engineering
- Define and implement processes and procedures to meet quality standards while achieving cost efficiency targets.
- Develop, commission, and execute strategies for automated manufacturing and test equipment in partnership with stakeholders.
- Create and execute production development and new release engineering (NRE) plans aligned with customer requirements.

Technical & Commercial Responsibilities
- Stay current with emerging standards, technologies, and methodologies affecting safety-critical manufacturing.
- Collaborate across engineering, development, and commercial functions to ensure technical and commercial alignment.
- Conduct cost analysis and KPI monitoring to maintain pricing competitiveness and profitability.
- Manage product configuration control, ensuring compliance with contractual and company standards.
Regulatory & Safety Compliance
- Adhere to UK and international export/import regulations, including ITAR laws.
- Participate in ongoing Government Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance checks.
Requirements
Essential
- Ability and willingness to undergo +DV security clearance (or equivalent).
- Proven knowledge of energetic materials production and process engineering.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or natural sciences (or equivalent industrial experience), with strong technical credibility.
- Reading, interpreting, and applying written technical procedures and drawings.
- Commercial awareness, professionalism, and razor-sharp interpersonal skills.
- Methodical attention to detail and disciplined work habits essential for safety-critical roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
Desirable
- Specialised knowledge of Mechanical/Electronic engineering standards relevant to high-precision manufacture.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimisation.
- Project management experience and familiarity with recognised methodologies.
- Exposure to automated manufacturing commissioning strategies.
