Location
This role is based in our Lisburn office, which is 10 minutes from Belfast, with occasional travel to our state-of-the-art head office in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow. The role works a hybrid model of 4 days in the Lisburn office & 1 day from home.
Position Overview
Through CoolPlanet subsidiaries, Power House Generation, Cool Planet Group is a registered Demand Side Unit (DSU) enabling industrial sites to earn additional revenue while supporting Ireland's transition to renewable energy through the provision of flexible demand reduction, behind-the-meter generation and storage.

Cool Planet’s primary business is not focused on the aggregation of customers' existing assets but on assisting commercial and industrial customers to decarbonise. This encompasses many value streams, including energy efficiency, process optimisation, microgrid control and replacement of high carbon intensity assets with new low carbon alternatives.
The Key Accountabilities of the Energy Analyst
Reporting to the Grid Services Commercial Director, you will receive broad training and experience across a wide spectrum of projects and activities to fully develop your skills. You will be responsible for:
- Daily System and dispatch likelihood Checks
- Validation of Market Settlement Documents and the budget file
- Attend SEMO participant Calls and Market User Operator Group calls.
- Analyse weekly SEMO availability forecast of units and input into the SEMO MPI system.
- Analyse weekly SEMO Inc., Decs and Shutdown costs and input into SEMO MPI system.
- Support regular weekly meetings with the SCADA team to agree on priorities, site visits and resolve technical issues
- Calculate revenue Invoices for capacity payments, DS3 and Dispatches using monthly SCADA reports
- Support capacity Auctions with:
- Support DS3 tenders:
- Respond to dispatch events according to the team Rota
- Support the onboarding of new units and new sites:
- Complete Client revenue Proposals for senior management

- Familiarity with Grid Services Market Operations, Energy Trading, or a related field within the Energy sector.
- Recent graduate with a degree specific to STEM
- Strong Excel and data analytical skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Intellectually curious and a motivated self-starter
