About The Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Energy Consultant to join a leading building performance and facilities management provider. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties, helping clients reduce energy consumption, lower carbon emissions, and improve overall building performance.
You'll be responsible for monitoring energy usage, analysing building data, identifying efficiency opportunities, and working closely with site teams to implement practical energy-saving initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage energy performance across a portfolio of commercial buildings.
- Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Analyse metering data and produce clear recommendations and reports.
- Conduct energy audits and support the delivery of energy-saving projects.
- Review and optimise BMS time schedules, set points and control strategies.
- Work with smart building technologies and energy monitoring platforms to investigate performance issues.
- Support the rollout and management of smart metering and the Apprise meter reading system.
- Collaborate with clients, facilities managers and engineering teams to deliver energy reduction initiatives.
- Produce monthly energy performance reports and present findings to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with current energy legislation and sustainability standards where required.

Requirements
- Experience in energy management within commercial buildings, ideally across a multi-site portfolio.
- Strong understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS), including time schedules, set points and plant optimisation.
- Experience analysing energy data and producing actionable reports.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and their impact on building performance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients and site teams.
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Desirable
- Experience within Facilities Management or Building Services.
- Knowledge of smart metering, AMR systems and sub-metering.
- Familiarity with ESOS, SECR, NABERS UK or BREEAM.
- Experience with IoT technologies and smart building platforms.
