The Energy Operations Department
The Energy Operations Department provides support to our Energy Brokers and the clients who they serve. They are responsible for timely submission of trades onto exchanges and the venues we support. In addition, we provide first line support for Trayport and NEON Energy
Role Overview
To provide direct support to a range of Energy Commodity broking desks, with a direct focus on Oil & Physical Markets ensuring coverage is provided in line with the broking desks. Responsibilities will include a range of tasks such as deal entry into internal and external platforms, trade reconciliations, recapping and problem solving. Ad-hoc responsibilities include assisting the Energy Client Services team with the Onboarding of new clients. Ensuring we adhere to all regulatory and SOX regulations.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring all top day trades are allocated, cleared & accepted in a timely & efficient manner
- Working closely with front office brokers, assisting with all queries & requirements
- Deal Entry into in-house systems
- Deal Entry into external exchange systems
- Configuration & monitoring of counterparty commission rates
- Daily monitoring & problem resolution of downstream internal system feeds & processes
- General customer support
- Reporting issues to the backoffice Supervisor & clearing manager
- Providing backoffice administration support under the guidance of the OTC backoffice Manager
- Assisting the Brokerage Department on relevant queries
- Efficient email management, including both personal & group mailboxes
- Timely and accurate distribution of reports
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA
- Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
- Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
- At all times complying with the FCA’s Code of Conduct
- To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility
- To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required
- To escalate risk events immediately
- To provide input to risk management processes, as required.
