EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
One of our highest costs within our operational divisions is our energy usage, which means we need close, expert focus to manage this heavy expenditure. We have an opportunity to join our Asset Strategy & Planning Team as an Energy Technician on a 12-month fixed term contract. You’ll play a vital role in optimising energy consumption, reducing costs, and contributing to our strategic carbon reduction goals. Your key responsibilities include achieving energy savings targets, monitoring consumption, and collaborating across various teams for effective energy management.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
- Be able to analyse and monitor energy consumption data, focusing on larger operational sites, while collaborating with site staff to identify and address concerns, implementing operational and capital solutions.
- Report on energy performance regularly, attending energy reviews and proactive site visits.
- Influence capital and maintenance plans with energy insights and implement and maintain the Energy Standard Operating Procedure and Site Energy Management Plans.
- Support Customer Operations teams in using our energy flexibly to take advantage of changing tariff or grid balancing schemes.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
To be successful in this role, you should have operational experience in clean water and/or waste water pumping stations, a track record of delivering improvement actions, and the ability to analyse and present performance information. Electrical experience and familiarity with eSCADA information are desirable.
Additionally, you’ll have the strong numerical and problems solving skills with the ability to influence others, have a solid understanding of energy consumption, metering/costs. You’ll also be proficient in I.T tools such as Outlook, Excel, SAP, Stark, eSCADA and PowerPoint.
As travel is required, it is expected that you will hold a full U.K licence.
