About the Role
Rhondda Cynon Taf is looking to recruit a Planning Enforcement Assistant within the Housing and Regeneration team. This is a great opportunity to develop people skills and experience within planning while helping to shape the future development of the County Borough.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support the Planning Enforcement Team in ensuring effective control of development within Rhondda Cynon Taf. The role involves:

  • Investigating allegations of breaches of planning control through site inspections
  • Liaison with complainants, landowners and other stakeholders
  • Collection and recording of accurate factual evidence

You will be responsible for progressing enforcement cases in accordance with the Council’s adopted enforcement policy and procedures, including:

  • Monitoring compliance with conditions attached to planning permissions
  • Taking appropriate action where breaches are identified

The role includes the preparation of a range of written materials such as:

  • Correspondence
  • Planning enforcement reports
  • Statutory notices

Ensuring they are clear, accurate and legally robust.

Additional Duties

  • Assist with the preparation of evidence for planning appeals and, where required, attend local inquiries
  • Prepare Statements of Evidence relating to non-compliance with enforcement notices
  • Attend the Magistrates Court to support formal proceedings
