Purpose of the Role:
The Engage 2 Employ Coach provides a collaborative programme “READY” that combines the expertise of St Basils’ Youth Voice & Engagement and Employability teams.

This programme brings together youth empowerment and employability development, ensuring every young person we work with is READY to take their next step with resilience, empowerment, aspiration, and personal growth.
The role involves delivering a range of engaging group work programmes and accredited learning activities to support NEET young people aged 16–25 who have experienced homelessness and are resident within St Basils projects. The postholder will use creative and innovative methods to inspire participation, build confidence, and support young people to progress into positive education, employment, or training outcomes.

The postholder will champion St Basils’ Youth Voice principles, ensuring that young people are actively involved in shaping the services that support them and that their voices influence organisational decision-making.
As Engage 2 Employ Coach you will enjoy working flexibly across multiple projects, acting as a key link between departments, ensuring a joined up, consistent approach to supporting young people in Engagement, Education, Training and Work. The role will include occasional evenings and weekends, and will thrive on achieving targets, building positive relationships, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes for young people.

- Assess learners' work in line with accreditor standards and provide detailed feedback and support progression.
- Produce post programme reports on young people’s progress, outcomes, and achievements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
