Natural Environment Service – Engagement Impact and Investment Team
Looking to appoint Grade H level
2-year fixed term contract
Are you an engagement and impact professional who wants to be part of change, in a city where nature meets the community?
We’re looking for an experienced, innovative engagement and impact professional with previous communications and funding experience to join our team. This new role will help shape how people connect with, influence and benefit from Plymouth’s natural environment.
Plymouth is Britain’s Ocean City, home to a unique natural environment, internationally significant marine habitats, urban green spaces and a thriving blue and green spaces. Through projects like the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park and the UK’s first Local authority owned Habitat Bank, we are leading the way in nature recovery, biodiversity and environmental investment. This role will help us communicate, engage, and evaluate our important work.
About The Role
You will help lead how we engage with communities, partners and stakeholders, ensuring our work is inclusive, insight-led and delivers real impact.
Working alongside the team, across a diverse portfolio of nature programmes, you will embed strong engagement, communication and evaluation approaches from the outset, helping to demonstrate value, inform decision-making and support future investment.
What You’ll Do
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
