Engagement Lead - Contract - Outside IR35

Softwire are seeking an Engagement Lead on a contract basis to help build, manage and grow a strong, coordinated stakeholder network across a specific programme within Local Government.

The Engagement Lead will act as the bridge between delivery, partnerships and communications: leading external engagement, ensuring alignment across workstreams, and maintaining a clear, credible narrative about the programme’s value, progress and impact.

A core focus will be sustaining trust and momentum across the sector, ensuring councils remain engaged, supported and connected as the programme evolves.

This is a role that would suit someone with a profile in building relationships across Government (ideally Local Government) with strong stakeholder engagement & communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships across a diverse stakeholder network, including Local Councils, Sector-bodies and cross-Government stakeholders
  • Coordinate engagement across multiple programme workstreams
  • Develop and deliver a structured stakeholder engagement approach
  • Source and grow participation across the programme
  • Act as a central coordination point for external engagement
  • Support programme positioning and narrative
  • Capture and synthesise insight across the sector
