Engagement Manager
Department: Revenue Operations Location: Bristol, UK Compensation: £80,000 - £100,000 / year
Description
We’re building the UK's next generation engineering powerhouse, providing critical technology that strengthens national security and resilience.
We specialise in turning advances in sensing, AI, and communications into operational capability for the edge, where connectivity may be degraded or denied. Our work focuses on accelerating the deployment of technology, improving decision-making for frontline teams, and protecting people and critical assets in demanding environments.
Headquartered in Bristol, Rowden employs around 160 people and operates over 20,000 square feet of engineering and manufacturing facilities. We have a growing international footprint and are one of Europe’s fastest-growing engineering businesses.
The Role
Due to increased demand, we’re building a pipeline for Engagement Managers to shape and secure opportunities that deliver real value to customers and operators. You’ll lead capture activities, ensuring our solutions are positioned to meet mission requirements, whilst building trusted relationships. Success in this role means not only securing new contracts, but also ensuring customers see continuing value, opening the door to long-term growth and follow-on work.
Our work spans open architecture mission systems, resilient networking, intelligent automation, and software products designed for operators in the most demanding environments. As Engagement Manager, you will take these capabilities into major government and industry programmes, ensuring Rowden is positioned as a trusted partner in delivering scalable, credible solutions.
You’ll develop capture strategies, build long-term relationships with customers and technology partners, and form consortiums that can deliver major programmes. Working closely with pre-sales engineering and delivery teams, you’ll translate Rowden’s technical strengths into compelling propositions.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in defence, national security, or emergency services, who have worked on or alongside major programme delivery and understand the challenges faced by customers in these domains.
You can register your interest by applying to this advert, and when a suitable vacancy opens, we’ll get in contact with you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
