Role Profile - Engine Dismantling Technician
Purpose
This role is responsible for the dismantling of engines and transmission systems as part of the company's salvage operations. The main purpose will be to extract and catalogue valuable automotive components, ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with environmental responsibilities. The role will be expected to apply hands-on technical knowledge across a range of automotive systems, with accuracy and attention to detail essential throughout. The position will also be required to uphold the highest standards of safety and apply sound technical judgement as part of day-to-day operations.

Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm

Vehicle Dismantling Manager
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely remove and disassemble engines, transmissions, differentials, axles, and driveline assemblies from salvage vehicles
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to extract components without causing damage
- Accurately document each component's details, including vehicle information, condition, and mileage
- Identify and sort salvageable parts for refurbishment or resale
- Organise and store dismantled components systematically for efficient retrieval
- Maintain accurate physical and digital inventory records
- Follow strict safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Dispose of hazardous materials responsibly in line with environmental regulations

Experience & Essential Qualities
- Mechanical qualifications (preferably to level 2 or 3 in vehicle mechanics or similar) and/or equivalent experience
- Solid experience disassembling, inspecting, and sorting powertrain components
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Problem-solving skills to tackle challenging dismantling scenarios
- Effective time management to meet daily targets
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to adapt to varying vehicle types and inventory demands
- Unwavering commitment to safety protocols and procedures
- Excellent organisational skills for inventory and workspace management
- Understanding of environmental regulations and eco-friendly practices
- High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism
- Own tools essential
