Engineer – Senior Hospital Maintenance IW Receptionist Support
About the Role
An exciting opportunity for an Engineer has arisen at Glendon Wood Hospital in Kettering. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the hospital remains safe, compliant, and fully operational(37.5 hours per week). Ramsay Health Care UK are seeking a skilled and proactive Engineer to deliver high-quality maintenance and technical support across our hospitals.
Location & Facilities
- Our brand-new, state-of-the-art day-case hospital is located in Glendon, Kettering—an extension of services provided by the nearby Woodland Hospital.
- HMS is part of Ramsay Health Care UK, a recognised leader in independent hospital care with over 60 years of experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the primary engineering contact for designated hospitals
- Implement Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive tasks within Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Ensure statutory inspections and remedial works are completed on time
- Provide first-line technical support for medical gases and fire safety systems
- Liaise with contractors, issue permits, and manage minor repair works
- Support project management and compliance initiatives
- Participate in multi-site on-call duty and cover holidays/sickness absences as required

Essential Requirements
A strong candidate will possess the following:
- City & Guilds Part 3, HNC, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Post-apprenticeship maintenance experience, including contractor coordination and line management
- Multi-skilled (preferably plumbing/feebias) with expert fault-finding skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of:
- Health & Safety legislation
- Legionella risk management
- MMS (Medical Maintenance Systems)
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills
- Valid full UK driving licence
