Job Title: Engineer – Data Delivery

Location: UK Wide – Scotstoun, Filton, New Malden, Portsmouth, hybrid - 2/3 days per week on site. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £45,500 depending on skills and experience.

Role Description:

Support the management and delivery of the River Class Destroyer (RCD) engineering query management system and all associated engineering process documentation. In supporting this work scope, this role will assist in all aspects of engineering query management capability. You will work within a multi-discipline team serving as the main interface, point-of-contact, and escalation route both internally and externally. This will include assisting in the development and agreement of detailed applicable cross-company engineering processes, ensuring customer needs are met, and driving a continuous improvement approach.

Core Duties:

  • Assist in developing a fit for purpose engineering query management system/capability for deployment on RCD programme – working with key customer stakeholders.
  • Support the deployment and management of the engineering query management system and capability for BAE Systems Naval Ships query resolution.
  • Create and document new engineering requirements for company-to-company query interface capability (including supporting development of RCD Automated Gateway between BAE and ISI) and engage closely with RCD programme and Naval Ships digital demand governance processes and change boards.
  • Working with the DD&C Data Team, support establishment and maintenance of a commensurate reporting capability to measure engineering query management performance against the transfer schedule, right-first-time, issue detection and resolution.

Essential Skills:

  • Academic qualification in a STEM related subject, and ability/willingness to become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineer through an appropriate recognised professional institution.
  • Knowledge of the engineering lifecycle and governance of complex products, including transition from detail design into build.
  • Knowledge of engineering processes such as design assurance, bills of materials, data quality and governance, design reviews, and zonal integration.
