Building Civils Design / Senior Civil Engineering Technician
We're looking for a Building Civils Design / Senior Civil Engineering Technician to join our Kier Design team, based in either Liverpool (Speke) or Norwich (Wymondham).
This is an opportunity to be part of a well-established and supportive team, working on the design of a diverse range of building projects and site redevelopments. Projects span a variety of sectors, including education, retail, blue light, defence, conservation, and commercial developments, offering plenty of variety and challenge.
With core teams in Liverpool and Wymondham, you'll also benefit from being part of Kier Design's wider 750-strong design practice, giving you exposure to large, high-profile building developments and the chance to collaborate with experienced professionals across the business.
Location: Liverpool (Speke) or Norwich (Wymondham) - travel to the office required with some remote working
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

- Producing and checking coordinated civil engineering and below-ground drainage drawings, design models, schedules, and specifications within a quality assurance environment
- Checking and coordinating civil engineering and drainage design information with other technical disciplines
- Detailing flexible and rigid pavement designs for roads, car parks, and hard standings
- Preparing material and workmanship specifications for civil engineering, drainage, and building elements
- Occasionally visiting sites to carry out surveys and inspections, and attending meetings with clients and consultants
What are we looking for?
This Building Civils Design / Senior Civil Engineering Technician role would suit someone who:
- Holds a qualification in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction, or Structural Engineering (Degree, HNC, BTEC, or equivalent)
- Brings strong experience using tools such as REVIT, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Civil 3D to produce high-quality, compliant models and drawings
- Has hands-on experience with drainage design software such as Innovyze InfoDrainage (or similar), alongside a solid understanding of drainage and SuDS systems
- Is confident reviewing and checking the work of others within a Quality Management System environment
- Holds a full UK driving licence, with working knowledge of BIM standards (ISO19650), and a genuine commitment to sustainability and continuous professional development
