Engineer

Location: Daytona Tamworth, Staffordshire
Department: Engineering
Reporting to: Head of Engineering / Assistant Head of Engineering

Are you an experienced mechanic, vehicle technician, or workshop engineer looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced motorsport environment? As an Engineer at Daytona Tamworth, you'll play a key role in maintaining our kart fleet, supporting workshop operations, and helping ensure the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance across the venue.

The Role

As an Engineer, you will work as part of the engineering team to support all technical and safety aspects of the venue's engineering operation. You will assist with the maintenance, servicing, repair, and preparation of the kart fleet, ensuring vehicles are available, safe, and maintained to the standards required by the business.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you will help ensure the workshop operates efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, organisation, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Fleet Operations

  • Assist with the maintenance, servicing, repair, and preparation of the kart fleet
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained to Daytona standards and available for operations
  • Support fault diagnosis, repairs, preventative maintenance, and engineering projects
  • Complete maintenance records and engineering documentation accurately and on time

Workshop & Stores

  • Support stock control, parts management, and operation of the stores system
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional workshop environment
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and machinery are used, maintained, and stored correctly

Safety & Compliance

  • Work in accordance with company policies, engineering standards, and health & safety procedures
  • Report defects, safety concerns, and equipment issues promptly
  • Support the safe delivery of all on-track and off-track activities
  • Maintain accurate records in line with company procedures

Venue & Team Support

  • Work closely with the engineering team to maintain high standards of safety, reliability, and fleet performance
  • Assist with venue maintenance and operational requirements when required
  • Participate in engineering rotas, including evenings, weekends, and busy event periods
  • Support the smooth running of venue operations through a positive, professional, and customer-focused approach

What We're Looking For

  • Strong mechanical, vehicle maintenance, or engineering experience
  • Previous experience in a workshop, garage, motorsport, or engineering environment
  • Good understanding of maintenance procedures and accurate record keeping
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Reliable, professional, and safety-focused approach to work
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office, email, and internet use, would be advantageous
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Experience within motorsport, karting, automotive, or similar operational environments would be advantageous
  • Must own tools (or be willing to acquire required tools)
