Engineer (Infrastructure)

Derby/Bristol/Glasgow/ York
Permanent
Office/Home Hybrid Working

Do you want to be a part of a growing Infrastructure Design team? Can you turn complex hydraulic and highway design challenges into clear, buildable solutions? Are you skilled in Civil 3D and drainage modelling software, and eager to use those abilities on some of the UK’s most exciting infrastructure projects? If the answer is yes, read on. This could be the next adventure in your career.

Create Solutions that will enable a better tomorrow

We are growing our Infrastructure Design team and looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with a solid background in highways and drainage to join us. You will work across a varied portfolio — from highway drainage schemes and sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS) to rail and water infrastructure — producing designs that genuinely support project delivery. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most innovative Drainage projects.

Your key responsibilities will:

  • Develop drainage and infrastructure designs, including SuDS, culverts, outfalls, and attenuation, from concept through to detailed design.
  • Prepare and review calculations, technical drawings, specifications, and design reports, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Manage project tasks, coordinate with technicians to translate designs into construction drawings, and attend site visits.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders, maintaining clear communication throughout the project programme.
  • Apply CDM Regulations, including designer responsibilities and design risk assessments.
  • Support and guide junior team members, sharing your technical knowledge and helping to build team capability.
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental standards through our Integrated Management System.

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.

The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
