Your New Role

As Warner Bros. Discovery’s portfolio expands globally and across platforms, the Global Technology & Operations (GT&O) team builds, implements, and maintains:

  • Business systems and media technology that meet world-class enterprise standards
  • Long-term technology strategy enabling:
    • Growing pay-TV, digital terrestrial, free-to-air, and online services
    • Broader audience reach across multiple platforms and regions

This role will primarily focus on WBD Sports within a transitioning hybrid on-premise/cloud architecture[¹]*. Your team is based in:

  • London (UK) and Paris, covering:
    • Developing and supporting a streamlined technical infrastructure
    • Managing operations across 2+ playout centres
    • Covering all sports markets in Europe (e.g., Eurosport)
  • Requires language fluency (English essential; French desirable).

Your Role Accountabilities

As part of the M2P Engineering team, this position will provide: Tier 2 Support:

  • Management of tickets escalated from Level 0/1 support
  • Coordination of incidents, issues, and follow-ups with internal and external stakeholders
  • Daily status updates with Tier 1 support teams
  • Planning maintenance phases, upgrades, and reboot action coordination
  • Monitoring and maintaining platform health/performance

Engineering:

  • Executive implementation of short-term engineering projects
  • Collaboration with Tier 3 engineering teams
  • Workflow and requirements specification from stakeholders:
    • WBD Sports
    • TNT Sports
    • Eurosport offices across Europe
  • Documentation and architecture:
    • Workflow documentation
    • Project/engineering artefacts
    • Centralised workflow design across MAM and post-production platforms
  • Change management support:
    • Assisting users with new tools/platform deployments

[¹] The movement represents a major reboot of WBD’s core playout infrastructure for 20+ European venues, shifting these hubs to a cloud-optimised scalable core.


Qualifications & Experience Requirements

Degree:

  • In Technology, Engineering, Broadcast, or a closely related field

Fluent skills:

  • Written/speaking English (mandatory)
  • French (desirable)

Technical expertise:

  • Support/engineering experience in support/engineering environments
  • Minimum of 3 years in Broadcast Technology
  • Experience in Sports, Live News, Documentary, and TV Production environments
  • Hands-on familiarity with:
    • Media Asset Management (MAM) systems
    • Post-production workflows
  • Extensive knowledge of:
    • IP-based video protocols (ST-2110, MPEG-4/AES67)
    • NMOS standards (IS-05, -13, -10/10+)
    • Audio/Video codecs and industry-accepted formats

IT understanding (nice-to-have):

  • General expertise in:
    • Network configuration & security
    • Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM)
    • Cloud services (deployment, network security, cost management)
    • Modern storage solutions (SCSI/NAS/SAN SPI tier storage)
  • Awareness of emerging broader broadcast technology trends

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication skills (written/verbal)
  • Adaptability and comfort working in fast-paced environments with frequent process/workflow changes
  • Stress-resilience, especially during live sporting events
  • Self-motivated team player with:
    • No excuses, great customer service commitment
    • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical breakdown, and solution design abilities
    • Collaborative mindset when supporting a global, hybrid team
