ROLE OVERVIEW:
As a Managed Services Engineer, you will provide support for live applications across a multitude of industries, including Healthcare, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Finance. You will be expected to perform maintenance tasks such as application deployments on cloud environments, troubleshooting network and application issues, and capturing application and system logs from cloud infrastructure.
You will be a member of our managed services team, where you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from our experienced Systems and Network Engineers, Database Administrators, and System Developers. You will also be responsible for communicating with both internal and external stakeholders regarding ongoing incidents and changes to their systems.
Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting production systems in an Azure environment for external clients. You must possess a strong awareness of data security compliance, specifically regarding PII, PHI, and GDPR. Your role will involve leveraging SQL query knowledge for database management, SQL Server monitoring, and proactively monitoring Azure resources to ensure system performance and reliability.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and maintain production systems hosted on Azure for external clients
- Implement and maintain Azure networking, security, and monitoring solutions
- Monitor SQL Server performance and reliability, including troubleshooting and optimization
- Ensure all support activities adhere to data security standards, including PII, PHI, and GDPR compliance
- Work with development teams to automate application deployments and infrastructure setup
- Implement and maintain Azure networking, security, and monitoring solutions
- Proactively monitor Azure resources and implement necessary alerting solutions
- Monitor system performance and reliability, and implement alerting and logging Solutions
- Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot and resolve production system issues
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding ongoing incidents
- Ensure security best practices are followed for infrastructure and deployments
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Core competency in production application support job role in the IT services industry for 2-4 years
- Prior experience in banking and the fin-tech domains will be an added advantage
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Working experience with either one or more of the following technologies: Azure, Windows Server, SQL server
- Sound knowledge and experience in Azure
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Shell for automation
- Experience with CI/CD tools and practices
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools
- Knowledge of security best practices in Azure environments
- Working experience with DevOps and understanding of the DevOps concepts
- Knowledge on ITIL processes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Sound knowledge and experience in Azure
- Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana
