The Role
As an Engineer – Support Engineering, you’ll lead the delivery of maintenance solutions focused on the Dreadnought submarine programme. Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and identifying spares and onboard support essentials
- Collaborating on maintenance task instructions and logistics support
- Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities for submarine programmes
- Liaising between engineering data, technical documentation, and stakeholders
Core Responsibilities
- Create maintenance solutions for the Dreadnought programme, including parts inventories, Technical Authority Key Task (TAKT) requirements, and Logistic Support Analysis (LSA)
- Collate and review technical documentation, including:
- Structural drawings
- Operational manuals
- Disassembly sequences
- Safeguard technical integrity by developing and writing standardised maintenance task instructions
- Interact with multi-disciplinary teams, both internal (BAE Systems divisions) and external (contractors, suppliers, and customers)
- Provide comprehensive support for all Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) and Supply Support activities

Key Skills & Experience
Requirements include:
- Proven stakeholder management experience
- Strong communication skills suited to cross-functional teams
- Proficiency with CAD software (augeas available) and engineering tender/contract tools
- Experience working with TeamCentre platform
- Understanding of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) principles
- Engineering degree or equivalent engineering experience
Highly desirable:
- Familiarity with compliance-driven industries (submarine/aerospace)
- Knowledge of maintenance and spares systems
- Functional experience in maintenance integral, locker/tube layout, or equipment design
