Engineer Surveyor - Electrical / LEV - Norfolk

Engineer Surveyor (Electrical & Local Exhaust Ventilation) – Allianz Engineering Inspection Services

Allianz Engineering Inspection Services is seeking a skilled and motivated Engineer Surveyor specialising in Electrical & Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) to join our expanding team in a role that supports global insurer Allianz, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

This is an opportunity to work autonomously, manage your schedule, and deliver expert customer service while making a tangible impact on safety standards.


About the Role

As an Engineer Surveyor, you will assume responsibility for inspecting, testing, and certifying a broad range of electrical systems and LEV equipment, ensuring adherence to statutory regulations and international safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Electrical Inspections and tests, including EICRs for industrial, commercial, and mixed-use properties (e.g., offices, factories, quarries).
  • Inspect, test, and report on LEV systems, including air movers (fans), ducting, hoods, and filtration systems—ensuring control of fumes, dust, and mists.
  • Ensure all work meets Allianz standards for quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Provide practical, safety-focussed recommendations to correct identified defects.
  • Build strong professional relationships with clients while delivering technical expertise and guidance.
  • Create clear, compliant reports and certifications for all work performed.
  • Act with expectation of high autonomy—planning, prioritising, and managing your workload effectively.

Salary Information

  • Base Pay: Circa £45,539 per year (adjustable based on location and experience).

About You

You are regulatory-savvy, pragmatic, and proactive, with a commitment to maintaining high safety standards. Exact remuneration and benefits are also impacted by:

  • Experience in the electrical or LEV industry (evidenced through relevant qualifications).
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Current knowledge of compliance and regulatory procedures in Electrical/Local Exhaust Ventilation fields.
    • Hands-on experience in low voltage electrical installation, inspection, and fault-finding (covering a diverse range of settings).
    • BS7671:2018 (18th Edition) certification or equivalent, supporting C&G2391 (Inspection & Testing).
    • Awareness of COSHH regulations (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
  • Organisation & Professionalism:
    • UK Drive License (required to travel to client sites).
    • Planning & time management skills to balance workload efficiently.
    • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) for customer interaction and documentation.
  • Flexibility & Collaboration:
    • Ready to occasionally deputise for colleagues to ensure coverage and operational continuity.

Desirable Skills

  • Demonstrable ability to manage ethical data use within a Sometimes Artificial Intelligence is applied context.
