I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

- Review site-specific Operational documentation to identify deviations from core standards collaborating with local site leads to align regional practices into a single, unified Operational framework.
Technical and Engineering Standards & Process Review, Improvement, and Upkeep
- Standards and Processes should be reviewed and amended (if required) at least annually or if a need arises to update. Regular quality checks should be carried out, ensuring full compliance to Standards, Processes, and ways of working. Actions should be recorded and tracked until completed.
- Act as the primary document control for Operations by managing the review lifecycle, version tracking, and formal archiving of obsolete procedures to ensure site teams always utilise the latest approved standards/documents.
