Role Description

This full-time, Engineering Apprentice role is based in Pembroke Dock. The apprentice will support the engineering sales team with day-to-day tasks. Assisting and understanding the requests of our customers, supporting with procuring the best value solutions back to the clients. Supporting the Area Sales Manager in gaining an understanding of account management, develop effective communication skills to a varying audience of technical experts. Hands-on experience in our Calibration Laboratory, developing the fundamentals of Calibration and rigorous guidelines set out through differing industries/approvals. Helping maintain equipment and stock.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Learning to interpret technical drawings
  • Supporting small projects under supervision
  • MRO sales and support
  • Collecting and organising data
  • Contributing to continuous improvement activities

The role also involves communicating with colleagues, following health and safety procedures, and completing structured training and assessments to develop engineering knowledge and technical sales. The Engineering Apprentice will work closely with experienced team members to build a foundation for a long-term career in engineering within MJ Wilson Group.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

  • Strong Communication skills, including the ability to work effectively within a team and follow clear instructions.
  • Analytical Skills to support problem-solving, data collection, and the interpretation of basic technical information.
  • Foundational knowledge or interest in Process Engineering, with a willingness to develop practical hands-on skills.
  • Emerging Project Management abilities, such as organising tasks, meeting deadlines, and supporting small project activities under guidance.

Additional beneficial qualifications include a good standard of general education (e.g., GCSEs or equivalent in math and science), strong attention to detail, a commitment to health and safety, and a genuine interest in building an engineering career. Prior workshop, industrial, or technical experience (including school or college projects) is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
