Become a Gas Engineering Apprentice at Royal Mail!
Location: Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre, Hurricane Way, Langley, Slough, SL3 8AQ (involving travel between the following postcode areas - GU, RG, SL)
Salary: £15,199 - £22,591 (depending on age)
Hours/Shifts: 37.5 hours per week - shifts will be aligned to a mentors when starting
Duration: 3 - 4 years
Qualification: Gas Engineering Operative - Level 3

What You'll Do
As a Gas Engineering Apprentice, you will help keep buildings safe and running.
You will learn how to:
- Install and fix gas systems
- Work on heating and hot water systems
- Repair cooking and catering equipment
- Check that gas equipment is safe
- Follow safety rules at all times
You will work with expert engineers who will teach you step by step.
Learn While You Work
This is an apprenticeship, so you will:
- Learn new skills every day on the job
- Study and complete your training
- Build a record of what you learn
As you grow in confidence, you will take on more tasks on your own.

What We're Looking For
You'll need:
- GCSE Maths and English Language at Level 4 (or the ability to achieve this during the apprenticeship)
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs in total (Grade 4/C or above), ideally including a Science (defined as Physics, Biology, Chemistry or combined Science) or Technical subject (or equivalent)

What Happens Next
After you apply, we'll invite you to take a numerical and verbal reasoning test so we can see how you work with words and numbers. If you move forward, you'll be invited to complete a screening (this may be a chat or an online screening form) to learn more about you and answer any questions you have.
If selected at screening, you may join a group assessment where you'll work with others on simple tasks.
